A Shooting Gem in the Garden of England

Premier Plus Ground at Paddock Wood

Set in 20 acres of partially wooded and landscaped grounds in Paddock Wood near Royal Tunbridge Wells, West Kent Shooting School offers a comprehensive English Sporting layout with over 100 different target combinations, including an impressive 100ft Raywing High Tower.

Shooting Positions Aplenty

All shooting areas at West Kent Shooting School are equipped with safety cages, gun racks and seating. The access pathways are paved and there is hard road access together with a large car park. With 45 shooting stands and over 60 fully automatic self-loading clay traps, the shooting ground offers an exciting range of shooting positions and targets. These features include: flying rabbit, decoy, duck, teal, walked up and partridge.

A Wealth of Shooting Sessions

West Kent Shooting School offers a wide range of lessons. They are by appointment only Monday to Friday and can be tailored to your own specific needs.

Their ‘Have a Go’ taster sessions will give you a taste of what clay shooting is all about. You’ll receive instruction from a knowledgeable instructor, all the necessary equipment plus a quantity of clays and cartridges. These sessions last for approximately 20 minutes.

If you enjoy your introduction to clay shooting, a one-hour novice session is a good idea and will cover areas such as safety, gun handling, footwork and basic targets. School guns are included together with eye, hearing and shoulder protection.

Corporate & Clubs

West Kent Shooting School has firmly established itself as one of the top venues in the South East for corporate shooting parties. They specialise in providing a personalised experience for corporate clients and highly trained instructors offer individual tuition for all skill levels, from beginners to competition standards. For groups larger than 45, exclusive use of the facilities can be arranged, with the ground closed for the day at an additional cost.

Clothing Savvy

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced shooter, it's crucial to wear comfortable, casual clothing that allows for unrestricted movement. Avoid overly baggy clothes to ensure your gun stays securely in place. Alan Paine offers suitable options for any weather. Layers are key, as even during summer months, the weather can be unpredictable. On cooler days, consider wearing a fleece gilet or wind-stopper jacket for added warmth.
